I have a 2000 Dodge stratus, and my power steering pump is just about worn completly. When I make turns it makes a loud groan noise. I wont be able to get it replaced for another 3 wks. What kind of power steering fluid can I buy to stop the noise and try to salvage what is left of the pump until i fix it? I tried the usual discount auto store fluid but it didn't help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i have a 2001 chrysler sebring that the BCM went bad… so I went to the auto salvage and they replaced my BCM… thing is, when i got home i locked up my car as usual… then later i wanted to go to the store, so i attempted to get back in my car when the horn kept beeping and parking lights flashing… i'm assuming the BCM was original to the 2001 sebring with some anti theft. when i bought the car used from a private person he only gave me a key, no remote or anything, just a key. well turns out that the BCM in there that got fried was the wrong BCM for that car to begin with, thus the BCM frying on me, so anyway… now that the right one is there i need to know how to bypass the system so my horn will stop beeping and i can start my car because my car will start but die immediately i think is due to the anti theft… so how can i get my car at least to the dealership so i can have the remote lock/unlock programmed? any advice? please.

I was in a car accident about 3 weeks ago. After choosing a repair shop which is also a blue-ribbon provider for my insurance, it’s taken all this time for them to tell me they are going to take my car to another shop for repair because the initial shop doesn’t like to do the repair that the insurance adjuster is recommending.
Ok, here’s the deal I have a 07 Charger that was rear-ended the first shop told me that he would try to pull the rear-end out but he ended up having to cut the rear passenger ¼ panel, replacing the floor pan and some other things, now the insurance adjuster is wanting to do something called a rear-end clip (getting a salvage rear end) to replace the damaged one. I asked the first repair shop owner why he didn’t want to do the repair. He replied that it wasn’t worth the trouble. So of course that sounded a little fishy to me so I called some other local repair shops and was basically told that there was risk involved and liability. I would like to know what the safety risks of such a repair are and I don’t like the fact that I have to send my car to another shop because the first doesn’t want to do the repair.
I just got off the phone with my insurance company about and hour ago and they have decided to total the car. Thanks everyone for your response

the adjuster told me that I wouldn't have a salvage title but the car has already been chopped by the first repair shop.

My wife wrecked her 1996 Chevy Cavalier Z-24, and we took it to this shady body shop called Jolley's, and the damage needed to be repaired was the front end. my wife paid in installments, it took about 3 weeks, the guy charged $2,700. But he admitted to buying a front end off of a salvaged 2001 cavalier, and we went pick up the car today, and the bumper he put on it was one from a car that was a 2.0 , not the 2.4 L that our car was, and also one of the clear corner lights leaks water and has condensation on the inside, probably due to a scratch that is evident on the exterior of the lens. Don't you think we deserve the parts to work like new even if they came off of a used car? I mean, for $2,700, he changed the hood, radiator, charged the A/C, changed the battery, headlights, corner lights, front bumper, hood latch, frame(radiator support), and painted 70% of the car black. Also changed 1 strut in the rear. Do you think I got a good deal? But shouldn't the corner light not leak ?

I have a full coverage for my car…and due to an accident (no-fault accident, hit and run on highway, and still under investigation), the car was damaged a lot and my insurance company decided not to fix it for me and just pay me the value of the car.
The process of getting the value of the car, deciding whether to fix it or not, salvage value…and so on….it took about 1 month.
Meanwhile, my car was in a local garage where the police officer called when the accident happened. I told my insurance company that my car was towed to this local garage, and asked them to get it from there (I called them while I was in ER)
I thought they took care of it…but now looking at the settlement, my insurance company charged me $3,000 for local garage storage fee. (The garage charged my insurance company, and eventually I had to pay for it.)
Does it make any sense? My insurance company decided to leave my car at this local garage. If I knew I had to pay about $3,000 for my car parked at this ramdom local garage, I probably asked them to tow the car to my backyard!!!
I am trying to call the claim adjuster and talk to her. But since the settlement letter was sent to me, she is extremely hostile and treats me like a piece of ****. She thinks everything is finished and she has no more business with me about this accident. She was almost screaming at me on the phone when I asked to look at the settlement again….
Should I talk to a lawyer or call the State department for insurance settlement and reopen the case? I don't have a car now and I owe $3000 to the garage….even though I had a full coverage insurance? (but the way, this is after $500 deductibles that I paid)
I don't understand! please help
thank you
thank you so much for your help.
I just found that another settlement document that my insurance company sent me about 2 weeks ago. On that paper, they did not deduct the $3000 for storage fee.
About 2 weeks later, they decided to amend the settlement (of course, I wasn't informed!) and sent me the one with $3000 deduction. I guess they realized that they paid too much money to the garage and changed their mind and made me pay.
I think I will talk to a lawyer who is a good friend of mine and see what he thinks. If he thinks it is better to have a lawyer on my side, I will go for it even though it will cost me at least $1000. I am very furious about how badly the insurance company treated me although I was their customer for more than 7 years with no accident and no tickets whatsoever! I really wish to speak up but no one is listening…so I might just gor for a lawyer
Thank you all for your wonderful answers. I wish I can choose all as the best answers. thanks!!!
